Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur hosted a successful Pink Charity Walk on Oct 27, 2024, drawing nearly 300 participants to support breast cancer awareness and early detection.
Partnering with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA), the event promoted breast health education and showcased a united front in the fight against breast cancer.
General Manager Daniel Kaeflein opened the event, expressing Shangri-La’s commitment to supporting the cause. He highlighted the value of community engagement, thanking all partners and participants who contributed to the initiative.
The day began with a lively Zumba session, energising the crowd before they embarked on the 5km walk along the KL Car-Free Morning Route. Streets turned pink as participants shared a strong message of solidarity and hope, symbolising their dedication to breast cancer awareness with every step.
Complementing the walk, the MURNI Mobile Clinic offered complimentary clinical breast exams, reinforcing the importance of early detection. A vibrant Pink Bazaar also featured various merchandise and services, giving attendees additional ways to support the cause.
Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur extended heartfelt appreciation to event partners such as Nespresso, KL Tower, Fit Mania Malaysia, and many others, whose contributions ensured an impactful day.
In October, Shangri-La also committed to donating 5% of proceeds from its Pink Afternoon Tea Set and Pink Goodies Sale to BCWA, further supporting breast cancer advocacy.
