being juice, a Malaysian juice startup, has raised US$1 million in a seed funding round led by venture capital firms 500 Global and BEENEXT. The funds will support the brand’s expansion, with plans to open 30 new stores across Malaysia in 2025 and launch its first overseas outlet in the Philippines this month.
The company, founded by Sayantan Das, former CEO of foodpanda’s operations in Malaysia and Brunei, focuses on 100% real fruit and vegetable smoothies. It offers 16 unique flavour combinations tailored to the Southeast Asian palate.
“being juice’s seed funding round is a huge milestone for us, especially since it has connected us to investors who believe in what we’re building,” said Sayantan. “We plan to scale strongly in 2025 and make it easier for everyone to choose drinks that are better for their health while also showing love to local businesses like ours.”
In addition to store expansion, being juice is developing a mobile app to enhance customer experience and foster community engagement. The brand, already well-established in the Klang Valley, continues to focus on offering nutritious, dairy-free beverages made from real ingredients.
being juice is also undergoing a brand refresh, with upgrades expected to roll out soon.
