KPMG in Malaysia has announced the opening of applications for its Young Star Scholarship Programme, a key initiative under the KPMG Education Trust Fund (ETF) aimed at supporting high-achieving accounting and finance undergraduate students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Managing Partner of KPMG in Malaysia, Foong Mun Kong, said, “Through KPMG Young Star Scholarship Programme, we are investing in the next generation of leaders by equipping them with career-defining opportunities, essential skills and experience.”
Since the launch of the KPMG Education Trust Fund in 2022, the firm has pledged RM5 million over a decade, with RM500,000 allocated annually to various scholarship and sponsorship programmes. To date, close to 200 beneficiaries have received support, with 71% from B40 communities.
Successful applicants will receive financial aid, internship placements, job opportunities at KPMG upon graduation, and sponsorship for the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) qualification.
Applications for the 2025 Young Star Scholarship Program are open until April 6, 2025.
