Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC) has entered into a strategic partnership with SELCARE, the healthcare arm of the Selangor State Government, to enhance access to cardiac care through the Skim Rawatan Jantung Negeri Selangor programme.
The collaboration was formalised in the presence of Selangor State Executive Councillor for Public Health and Environment, Jamaliah Jamaluddin. It aims to deliver early screening, diagnosis and treatment for heart disease, particularly to underserved and vulnerable communities across the state.
As Malaysia’s largest private quaternary hospital, SMC brings its renowned expertise to the initiative, supported by 28 Centres of Excellence including its Heart, Lung & Vascular Centre.
The centre offers a full suite of cardiology subspecialties, served by 13 cardiologists for both adult and paediatric care, and supported by advanced facilities such as cardiac CTs, MRI scanners, catheterisation labs and coronary care beds.
This initiative will see eligible Selangor residents receiving heart health services at no cost or heavily subsidised rates, as part of SMC’s ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. The partnership leverages SELCARE’s deep community reach and extensive network of over 2,000 clinics and 200 hospitals to ensure effective delivery.
Datuk Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth, Group CEO of SELGATE, highlighted the importance of the collaboration in connecting public healthcare policies with private sector capabilities to ensure inclusive care.
SELCARE currently manages multiple flagship state health programmes including Iltizam Selangor Sihat, Selangor Saring, and Skim Rawatan Jantung Negeri Selangor, collectively benefiting over 600,000 individuals and households.
