Bursa Malaysia Midday Flat, FBM KLCI Dips Slightly By 0.08%

Bursa Malaysia’s key benchmark, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI), showed little movement as it closed at 1,522.19 points by midday on 29 May 2025, down 1.29 points or 0.08%. The index fluctuated between a high of 1,526.94 and a low of 1,518.38 during the morning session.

Other indices showed mixed performances with the FBM70 rising 25.91 points or 0.16% to 16,332.56, while the FBM Emas index was nearly flat at 11,398.06, up just 0.01%. The FBM Shariah index inched higher by 8.71 points or 0.08% to 11,384.22.

Among the most actively traded stocks by volume, Permaju (stock code 7080) saw heavy activity with 121.1 million shares traded but the price declined 0.005 to RM0.010. HM Holdings remained steady at RM0.180 with nearly 29.5 million shares changing hands. Natgate Holdings gained 6 sen to RM1.64 on volume of 28 million shares, while MYEG added 0.5 sen to RM0.895 with nearly 25 million shares traded. Velesto Resources also edged higher by 0.5 sen to RM0.180 on 20 million shares traded.

Overall, the market showed a cautious tone amid modest activity and mixed stock movements ahead of the afternoon session.
