Design Up Close: Explore Zurich’s Swiss Design Collection

At the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, visitors can now explore Switzerland’s largest international design collection in a whole new way. The newly opened Swiss Design Collection showcases around 2,500 objects, including works in graphic design, typography, posters, textiles, product design, and applied arts. For the first time, parts of the archive are permanently accessible to the public, offering a rare chance to engage with these objects up close and appreciate the stories and creative processes behind them.

Located at Pfingstweidstrasse 96 in the vibrant Toni-Areal district, the exhibition also includes temporary installations that present fresh perspectives on the collection. Visitors can engage directly in the integrated studio, where they have the opportunity to design, experiment, and deepen their knowledge. The museum offers accessible and inclusive guided tours and conversations throughout the summer, making this a must-visit destination for design enthusiasts and curious minds alike.

A New Chapter for Museum Haus Konstruktiv

After 24 years at its previous location, Museum Haus Konstruktiv has officially reopened at its new home in Zurich’s Löwenbräukunst complex. The move marks a major step forward for the museum, which focuses on constructivist, concrete, and conceptual art from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The new space is now open to the public, with expanded exhibition areas planned to launch in 2026. Until September 28, 2025, the opening exhibition We Are Here! invites visitors to rediscover the museum’s core values through a fresh lens, with a mix of public tours, family workshops, and artist talks scheduled throughout the season.

Museum Haus Konstruktiv is open Tuesday, Thursday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, with extended hours on Wednesdays. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible and offers free lockers, a cosy café, and a shop with limited editions and art books.

Located in the heart of Zurich, it’s easy to reach by tram or bus. Visitors will find a welcoming, inclusive environment with free admission for accompanying persons and guide dogs. Whether you’re an art lover or just exploring, Haus Konstruktiv offers a meaningful and accessible cultural experience.
