MyDigital ID registrations have reached 2.8 million Malaysians as of the second quarter of 2025, rising sharply from 1.8 million recorded in Q1, driven by growing real-world applications across public and private services.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the surge was largely due to expanded use-cases such as logging into the MyGOV portal, accessing the MyJPJ app and verifying prepaid SIM card ownership.
“As more government and private sector services adopt MyDigital ID, public demand for registration naturally rises,” she told the Dewan Rakyat in response to a question from MP Beluran, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.
Ronald had asked for updates on the MyDigital initiative, particularly on MyDigital ID registration, system integration, and its effect on public service delivery.
Commenting on the integration progress, Dr Zaliha said 82 application systems have now been linked to MyDigital ID. This includes 35 government systems that have been fully integrated, 17 currently being implemented, and 21 still in early discussions. Seven non-government systems have also been connected, with two more in the pipeline.
To support rural and remote areas, the government is expanding stakeholder engagement sessions and collaborating with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to improve internet accessibility.
“MyDigital ID is also taking proactive steps by collaborating with MCMC and the Royal Malaysia Police to curb cybercrime, including through the verification of prepaid SIM cards using MyDigital ID, which is expected to be enforced by the end of Q3 2025,” she added.
