Toyota Motor Corporation reported record highs in both global output and sales for the first half of 2025, driven by strong demand in key markets like North America, Japan, and China.
The world’s largest automaker saw its global sales rise 5.5% year-on-year to over 5.1 million vehicles from January to June. Hybrid vehicles played a significant role, making up around 43% of the company’s worldwide sales during this period.
Production also increased, with Toyota’s global vehicle output growing 5.8% year-on-year to 4.9 million units in the first six months of the year. In June alone, global sales climbed 1.7% to 867,906 vehicles, while production surged 7.4% to 854,565 cars. These figures account for sales and production across all Toyota brands, including the luxury Lexus line.
The Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) plant in Onnaing near Valenciennes maintain its role in supporting the company’s European output. Vehicles such as the Yaris and Yaris Cross are assembled at the facility, highlighting Toyota’s commitment to hybrid production on the continent.
