Malique Firdauz Ahmad Sidique has been appointed as Officer-in-Charge, Group CEO, Islamic Banking & CEO of Maybank Islamic Bhd, effective Aug 1, Maybank announced in a statement.
Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer, Group Islamic Banking and Head of Group Performance Reporting, Malique will assume day-to-day management responsibilities for Maybank Islamic while continuing in his current roles. He will report directly to Datuk Seri Khairussaleh Ramli, President & Group CEO of Maybank.

He previously served as Officer-in-Charge, Group CEO, Islamic Banking & CEO of Maybank Islamic, in addition to his roles as Deputy CEO of Maybank Islamic and Head of Community Banking.
“On behalf of Maybank, we extend our deepest gratitude to Nor Shahrizan for his 16 years of service to the group.
“He has played a pivotal role in strengthening our Islamic banking business,” said Khairussaleh.
He also confirmed that the group is on the lookout for a new CEO for Maybank Islamic, with an official announcement to be made once regulatory approvals are secured.
