RHB Banking Group has announced a Flood Relief Assistance Programme for customers impacted by the recent floods in Sabah, offering short-term financial support to individuals and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) until 31 October 2025.
The programme provides deferment of payments for up to six months, from October 2025 to March 2026, on various facilities including mortgages, Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) loans and financing, personal loans and hire purchase facilities. Affected credit card holders will also benefit from waivers of late payment charges and management fees of up to RM500, with card replacement fees also waived.
SME customers are eligible for similar deferments of up to six months across financing facilities, such as hire purchase, term loans, accrued interest or profit for overdrafts, and multi-trade line bills under trade facilities.
RHB Banking Group Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Mohd Rashid Mohamad said the initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden of those affected. “Our thoughts are with the people of Sabah who have been severely affected by the recent floods. Through this programme, we hope to help ease their financial burden so they can focus on recovery and rebuilding their lives and their businesses,” he said.
He added that beyond financial assistance, the bank is also working with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society to deliver post-flood relief to communities in need.
