Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd has expanded its strategic partnership with Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Bhd (SJPP) to provide RM2 billion in financing to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) under government guarantee schemes.
HLIB did not comment on calls for this move, but the collaboration strengthens efforts to improve SME access to funding across business stages and sectors.
The Bank will actively participate in SJPP’s Government Guarantee Scheme MADANI (GGSM), Working Capital Guarantee Scheme (WCGS), and Working Capital Guarantee Scheme – Start Up (WCGS-SU).
These schemes enable SMEs to secure financing for capital expenditure, working capital, and business expansion. Since 2020, Alliance Bank has disbursed over RM2.59 billion under SJPP guarantee schemes, benefiting more than 2,500 SMEs nationwide.
The partnership also emphasises enhancing SMEs’ digital readiness, offering faster, technology-driven financing solutions while leveraging government-backed guarantees to support sustainable growth.
Alliance Bank’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Kellee Kam, said, “Alliance Bank has always been focused on helping SMEs grow through fast, convenient and personalised solutions tailored to their evolving needs. Under our Acceler8 strategy, we continue to build momentum in this space, and this extended partnership with SJPP allows us to further empower local SMEs through targeted financing solutions.”
Datuk Fazlur Rahman Zainuddin, Principal Officer of SJPP, noted that since SJPP’s inception in 2009, more than 80,000 SMEs have benefited from its schemes, with guarantees amounting to around RM112 billion through 33 financial institutions.
He added that Budget 2026 allocates RM30 billion for SJPP, up from RM20 billion previously, reflecting the government’s focus on expanding SME access to financing.
The strategic partnership supports Malaysia’s broader economic priorities, including the MADANI economic framework and digital transformation agenda, reinforcing Alliance Bank and SJPP’s role in driving inclusive and sustainable growth for the SME sector.
