Digital Realty Expands Into Malaysia With Cyberjaya Data Center Acquisition

Digital Realty, a global provider of data centre and interconnection solutions, is entering the Malaysian market through the acquisition of the TelcoHub 1 data center in Cyberjaya, one of Greater Kuala Lumpur’s largest digital hubs.

TelcoHub 1, an operational 1.5-megawatt facility, is among Malaysia’s biggest dark fibre interconnect hubs, hosting over 6,000 fibre cores and more than 40 network service providers, including AWS, Google, MY IX and DECIX ASEAN.

The acquisition includes adjacent land capable of supporting up to 14 megawatts of IT load, providing capacity for future expansion.

The transaction, expected to close in the first half of 2026, will integrate the Malaysian campus into Digital Realty’s PlatformDIGITAL®, enabling customers to deploy infrastructure in a secure and interconnected environment.

The company also plans to introduce its ServiceFabric® interconnection and orchestration solution to the facility, offering regional and global connectivity options.

“Malaysia plays an increasingly important role in the region’s digital ecosystem as hyperscalers, enterprises and platforms scale up,” said Serene Nah, Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific, Digital Realty.

She added, “Our entry into Malaysia will bring our global platform, operational expertise and long-term investment approach into the local market.”

Billy Lee, Chairman and CEO of CSF Advisers, will join Digital Realty alongside the local leadership team and over 40 professionals.

Total data centre capacity in Malaysia is projected to grow from 1.26 gigawatts in 2025 to 2.53 gigawatts by 2030, driven by rising demand for cloud services, AI workloads, and improved connectivity infrastructure.
