Ferrari Previews First Electric Car Luce, Shows Only Interior

Ferrari has officially named its first fully electric car Luce, marking a major step into the EV era. The announcement came with a preview of the interior rather than the exterior, reported Hypebeast.

The cabin is a collaboration with Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson’s creative collective, LoveFrom. Unlike many modern EVs dominated by screens, Luce focuses on physical controls and premium materials.

The 12.86-inch instrument binnacle blends an aluminium needle with an OLED display, merging analogue tradition with digital clarity.

Sustainability is a key focus. The three-spoke steering wheel is made entirely from recycled aluminium with no plastic. Meanwhile, physical buttons rather than touch surfaces controlled the drive modes.

A 10.12-inch central screen sits on a ball-and-socket joint for adjustability, and the magnetised key dock uses E Ink to change colour from yellow to black when the key is connected.

Ferrari has yet to reveal the exterior, but it has confirmed that the Luce will feature a “mighty” electric powertrain with more than 1,000bhp, showing that the shift to battery power won’t compromise performance.

With the Luce, Ferrari demonstrates that its electric future can remain true to the brand, prioritising craftsmanship, driver engagement, and thoughtful design over flashy tech. The full exterior reveal is reportedly slated for May 2026.
