Telekom Malaysia (TM) has become the first telecommunications company in Malaysia to obtain the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) certification.
The certification, achieved through its Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence and validated by SIRIM QAS International, reflects the group’s adoption of governance, ethical safeguards and risk management in AI deployment.
Group CEO Amar Huzaimi Md Deris said the milestone strengthens trust as TM advances its AI capabilities.
“This certification reflects our commitment to responsible governance and transparency as we scale AI adoption,” he said.
TM said the recognition positions the group to lead structured AI practices and support organisations in deploying AI within clear and auditable frameworks.
The move aligns with its Digital Powerhouse 2030 ambition and broader efforts to support trusted AI adoption across Malaysia’s digital economy.
