Bank Islam Launches Mobile Friendly Shariah-Compliant Will-Writing

Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad has introduced a Shariah-compliant will-writing service via its BIMB Mobile application, becoming the first bank in Malaysia to offer the feature through a mobile banking platform.

Developed in collaboration with Amanah Warisan Berhad (AWARIS), the initiative marks a significant step in integrating estate planning into digital financial services, and to modernise Islamic wealth management.

The new feature allows customers to prepare their wills securely while adhering to Shariah principles. It is embedded within the bank’s existing digital ecosystem, aligned with its data security protocols and Shariah governance standards.

“Through this initiative, we aim to encourage greater adoption of estate planning while reinforcing our position in Shariah-compliant digital wealth management. Customers can now manage both financial and legacy planning seamlessly, anytime and anywhere,” Bank Islam Director of Wealth Management Datin Zaharah Abdul Muttalib said.

AWARIS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Prof. Datuk Ahmad Saruji Abdul Aziz said the collaboration represents a significant advancement for Malaysia’s digital estate planning landscape.

He noted that the integration enables individuals to manage legacy planning more efficiently while promoting financial well-being and responsible wealth distribution.

Effective April 8, 2026, the will-writing service is available to all Bank Islam customers, with a promotional price of RM300 for the Platinum Plan. The first 250 users who complete their applications will also receive a RM40 Touch ’n Go eWallet voucher, as part of efforts to drive early adoption.
