Malaysia Boosts International Business Events Profile At TMS APAC 2026

Malaysia is stepping up its presence in the global business events industry with a focused push at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (TMS APAC) 2026 in Singapore.

The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, is leading the effort at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, aiming to strengthen the country’s position as a key destination for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions in the region.

TMS APAC 2026 is expected to bring together more than 290 exhibitors, about 1,800 attendees and around 600 hosted buyers from over 70 countries.

The event acts as a central meeting point for corporate buyers, meeting planners, association representatives and exhibition organisers, with a strong focus on business networking and deal-making.

For Malaysia, the event is a direct opportunity to engage with decision-makers and promote its business events offering. That includes its convention infrastructure, hotel capacity and wider destination appeal. The country is also positioning itself as a gateway into Southeast Asia, supported by established connectivity and geographic location.

MyCEB’s strategy emphasises Malaysia’s strengths: world-class infrastructure, prime location as a gateway to Southeast Asia, and a package of services.

“Our participation reflects Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to strengthening its global footprint in the Business Events industry,” says Tan Mei Phing, MyCEB’s CEO. She highlights how such platforms let Malaysia showcase its venues, hospitality, and ability to host meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions that deliver results.

The delegation includes major players such as Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, Marriott International Malaysia, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.

Together, they present Malaysia’s robust ecosystem of venues, hotels, and support services for major international events. MyCEB is also running targeted business-matching sessions and interactive initiatives to spark partnerships and leads.

This effort aligns with broader goals of sustainable growth in Malaysia’s business events sector. By fostering ties with global stakeholders, MyCEB aims to secure high-value opportunities and solidify Malaysia’s spot as a go-to hub in the region.
