UMNO Readmits Top Members Khairy, Hishamuddin And 6,000 Others

UMNO has readmitted former vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, alongside more than 6,000 former members and leaders, under its Gagasan Rumah Bangsa initiative.

UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the decision was finalised at the UMNO Supreme Council meeting chaired by party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on April 17.

“Also reinstated unconditionally is former foreign minister Tan Sri Dr Syed Hamid Albar, along with 6,252 former division and branch-level leaders and members across the country.

“All the names have been brought to the Rumah Bangsa Committee chaired by Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin and then to the Supreme Council. Constitutionally, all matters must go through the Supreme Council,” he added.

The large-scale reinstatement marks a significant step in UMNO’s internal consolidation efforts, as the party moves to rebuild its membership strength and unify former leaders under the Rumah Bangsa framework.
