Kawan Renergy Awarded RM70 Million Diesel Generator Supply Contract

Kawan Renergy Berhad has secured a RM70.4 million purchase order for the supply of diesel generator systems for a data centre project.

The company said its wholly-owned subsidiary accepted the order from a Malaysia-incorporated data centre service provider. The project involves the supply and delivery of diesel generator systems for a facility located in the central region of Peninsular Malaysia.

The contract underscores continued infrastructure investments in data centres, particularly in power reliability systems such as backup generators, which are critical for uninterrupted operations.

Kawan Renergy said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its future earnings and net assets per share upon commencement.

However, the order will not have any impact on the company’s issued share capital or shareholding structure, as it does not involve the issuance of new shares.

The group noted that the project carries only normal operational risks associated with such contracts, with no additional material risk factors identified.

The acceptance of the purchase order is also not subject to shareholder or regulatory approvals.
