Malaysia is set to bring the FIFA World Cup 2026 straight into homes, phones and public spaces nationwide after the government confirmed Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Unifi TV as the official broadcasters.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the move reflects the government’s commitment to ensure Malaysians enjoy the tournament in an inclusive, legal and comprehensive way, backed by collaboration between the public and private sectors to deliver high-quality coverage with wide reach.
Fans will be able to catch the tournament across multiple platforms, including free-to-air broadcasting via MYTV and digital streaming through RTMKlik and Unifi TV, ensuring access whether on television or online.
Unifi TV will carry all 104 matches live, while RTM will broadcast a majority of the games either live or on delay, giving viewers flexibility in how they follow football’s biggest stage.
Beyond match coverage, dedicated studio programming will be produced mainly in Bahasa Melayu with selected English segments.
To further amplify the experience beyond screens, the government will also organise public viewing events at selected locations nationwide, turning the World Cup into a shared national viewing experience.
Several key sponsors have already been identified and are in the process of finalisation, with more details expected to be announced soon as preparations intensify ahead of the global tournament.
