The Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF) has elected Dato’ Afdlin Shauki as its new vice chairman, marking a leadership transition as the organisation pushes for stronger industry collaboration and safer digital spaces.
The appointment follows the resignation of Claudian Navin Stanislaus as president of the Malaysian Advertisers Association, the role through which he represented the CMCF vice chairmanship.
CMCF chairman Datuk Rafiq Razali said the appointment comes as the media and communications industry faces rapid technological changes, shifting audience expectations and growing focus on trust, responsibility and sustainability within the digital ecosystem.
“Dato’ Afdlin brings a unique combination of industry experience and insight that will add significant value to the organisation’s ongoing work. His appointment comes at an important time as the industry navigates rapid technological change, shifting audience expectations, and increasing focus on trust, responsibility, and sustainability within the digital and media ecosystem,” he said.
Afdlin said collaboration between creators, consumers and regulators would be important in strengthening the content ecosystem and ensuring digital platforms remain safe and inclusive.
“A vibrant content ecosystem relies heavily on the synergy between creators, consumers and regulators. I look forward to bridging these gaps at CMCF, driving meaningful collaborations that protect and elevate our industry,” he said.
CMCF also recorded its appreciation to Navin for his years of service and contributions to the organisation’s development and industry engagement efforts.
