IOI Corp 9M26 PAT Inches Higher To RM1.2 Billion

IOI Corporation Bhd reported a marginal increase in profitability for the nine months ended March 31, 2026 (9M26), with profit after tax (PAT) rising 9% to RM1.2 billion from RM1.1 billion a year earlier, supported by stronger contributions from its plantation and resource-based manufacturing segments.

Revenue for the period also rose to RM8.74 billion from RM8.37 billion previously, while profit before tax (PBT) increased to RM1.49 billion compared to RM1.36 billion. Excluding non-underlying items, underlying PBT climbed 20% year-on-year to RM1.46 billion, driven by improved performance across core segments.

For quarter under review (3Q26), IOI Corp recorded revenue of RM2.68 billion, slightly lower than RM2.74 billion a year earlier, but PAT increased to RM288.2 million from RM266.2 million. PBT also rose to RM354.9 million, with underlying earnings strengthened by higher plantation output and improved manufacturing contributions.

IOI Corp said plantation earnings were supported by firmer crude palm oil prices, which traded above RM4,800 per metric tonne earlier in April before moderating to the RM4,400-RM4,600 range. The group expects prices to remain range-bound in the near term, supported by soybean oil premiums and biodiesel mandates, though seasonal output and inventory build-up may cap upside.

The group expects its plantation segment to remain resilient, supported by higher fresh fruit bunch production and maturing oil palm profiles, while acknowledging continued pressure in refinery and commodity marketing due to competitive margins.

IOI Corp added that oleochemical performance remains challenged, although lower feedstock costs and improved restocking demand are expected to provide some support in the final quarter. Specialty fats performance is expected to be mixed amid regional demand shifts and margin normalisation.

Despite near-term volatility, IOI Corp said it expects its overall performance for 4Q26 to remain resilient, underpinned by operational efficiency and a stable plantation outlook.
