Animal lovers can now spend a meaningful weekend with “A Better Malaysia for Stray Animals”.
Taking place on Saturday, “A Better Malaysia for Stray Animals” is more than a charity luncheon. Organised by Anna Rescue and Stray Free Foundation, the event aims to raise funds while encouraging more Malaysians to play a role in creating a kinder future for stray animals.
Guests can enjoy a specially curated Middle Eastern buffet courtesy of Al Halabi Gourmet Restaurant, browse an impact gallery showcasing rescue efforts and animals waiting for adoption, hear a panel discussion on building a more compassionate Malaysia, and bid on exclusive items during a charity auction.
Auction highlights include designer fashion from Self-Portrait, pet couture by Melinda Looi and Aria Shukor, jewellery from Suen Jewellers, premium treatments by The M.A.C Clinic, and a two-night luxury stay at Villa Vista Langkawi.
Among those expected to attend are celebrity chef Anis Nabilah, actors Afiq Rahim and Rashid Salleh, and singer Joy Victor, alongside animal advocates and business leaders.
For the luncheon, Anna Rescue has partnered with Stray Free Foundation, a Malaysian animal welfare organisation that champions Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programmes for community cats – a humane approach aimed at reducing uncontrolled breeding and improving long-term welfare.
Since beginning its work in late 2021, the foundation has helped more than 1,500 cats through TNR initiatives while supporting community feeders and animal welfare projects across several states.
Funds raised from the luncheon will be channelled towards three key initiatives: TNR programmes across Malaysia; Rescue the Rescuer, which supports independent rescuers struggling with veterinary, boarding and food costs; and Feed the Strays, which helps community caregivers provide food for stray animals in areas with limited resources.
Whether you’re an animal rights activist, an animal lover, or curious about the movement, the organisers hope the afternoon will inspire more Malaysians to see that even small acts of kindness can help create a better future for the country’s strays.
The luncheon takes place July 18th from 2 to 4 pm at Al Halabi Gourmet Restaurant in Pavilion Damansara Heights. Individual seats are RM150, while tables of 10 are RM1,500. To reserve your place, contact 012-586 5065.
