CelcomDigi Appoints Telenor Executive June Solbekk To Board

CelcomDigi Berhad has appointed June Solbekk, a senior executive from the Telenor Group, as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director. The appointment took effect on July 24, 2026, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Solbekk, 47, is a Norwegian national with more than 16 years of leadership experience within Telenor, where she has held a series of senior commercial positions across the Nordic region.

She currently heads Telenor’s consumer business in Sweden, overseeing the company’s retail operations in one of the group’s key European markets. During her tenure, she is credited with reversing market share declines and returning the business to growth.

Prior to joining Telenor in 2010, Solbekk built extensive experience in the information technology and telecommunications sectors, focusing on commercial strategy, consumer business and brand development.

She holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Communication from Bond University in Australia, as well as a Master’s degree in Marketing (Sivilmarkedsförer) from BI Norwegian Business School.

As a representative of Telenor Malaysia Investments Pte Ltd, one of CelcomDigi’s major shareholders, Solbekk will abstain from deliberating and voting on matters involving transactions between the Telenor Group and the CelcomDigi Group to address potential conflicts of interest.

She does not hold any directorships in other public-listed companies and has no family relationship with any director or major shareholder of CelcomDigi.
