Train services along the Kulai-Kempas Baru-JB Sentral route were disrupted after a lorry carrying flammable material skidded on a bridge and damaged the railway’s overhead electrical system on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred at about 8.10pm when liquid from the lorry’s cargo spilled onto the overhead line system near the railway tracks. A concrete structure at the site also fell onto the overhead lines serving both tracks, preventing the power supply from being restored.
The disruption affected ETS and Shuttle Selatan services, with delays expected to reach up to 120 minutes while inspection and recovery works are carried out.
Shuttle buses are being provided for affected ETS passengers at Kulai, Kempas Baru and JB Sentral stations.
Freight train services along the affected section have also been temporarily suspended until inspection and restoration works are completed.
Technical teams, together with the Fire and Rescue Department, are carrying out the removal, inspection and restoration works to allow train operations to resume normally.
