The inaugural SIBS@ASEAN Bandung Edition generated RM253.59 million in potential business value from 237 business matching sessions, exceeding several of its key performance indicators while strengthening trade and investment links between Selangor and Indonesia.
Held from July 9 to 10 in Bandung, Indonesia, the two-day programme attracted 221 Malaysian delegates and about 210 Indonesian participants. A total of 74 Selangor companies took part across sectors including aerospace, rail and mobility, property, energy and utilities, technology, creative industries, medical tourism and education.
The first day featured investment presentations on opportunities in Selangor and West Java, alongside high-level panel discussions on strengthening the Malaysia-Indonesia supply chain and preparing ASEAN’s future workforce.
The programme also saw the signing of seven memoranda of understanding and one letter of intent, covering areas including the care economy, workforce development, medical tourism, education, financial cooperation and semiconductor development.
Delegates subsequently joined sector-focused breakout sessions spanning aerospace, rail and mobility, creative industries, energy and utilities, property development and technology, providing businesses with direct access to prospective partners and government agencies.
On the second day, Malaysian companies took part in industry visits across West Java, including aerospace and rail facilities, technology and creative hubs, industrial developments and the floating solar project at the Cipanas Reservoir.
The business mission was complemented by the Selangor Medical Tourism and Education Expo, which featured 32 Malaysian exhibitors from the healthcare, higher education and financial services sectors.
Invest Selangor Chief Executive Officer Datuk Hasan Azhari Idris said the strong participation and collaborations demonstrated growing confidence in Selangor as an investment destination.
“The strong participation, strategic collaborations and RM253.59 million in potential business value demonstrate growing confidence in Selangor as a preferred investment destination,” he said, adding that the state would build on the momentum at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026 that is scheduled to take place from Oct 14 to 17 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. SIBS 2026 brings together international investors and industry leaders to further expand regional business and investment networks.
