Bursa Malaysia remained in negative territory at midday on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) easing 3.39 points or 0.20% to 1,731.32.
The index opened at 1,733.44 and moved between an intraday high of 1,734.72 and a low of 1,728.64.
The broader market was also mostly lower, with the FBM70 falling 30.49 points or 0.17% to 18,299.72 while the F4GBM slipped 2.05 points or 0.20% to 1,041.17.
The FBMEMAS declined 23.80 points or 0.19% to 12,834.75 while the FBMSHA dropped 43.51 points or 0.34% to 12,651.47.
Among the top gainers, Ranhill rose 21 sen to RM2.57, followed by UWC which added 18 sen to RM6.73.
Ideal climbed 17 sen to RM3.68 while BLD Plantation and Hong Leong Industries each gained 16 sen to RM15 and RM17.84 respectively.
Nestle was the biggest decliner, falling RM1.20 to RM102.30. MPI dropped 56 sen to RM47.28 while United Plantations shed 28 sen to RM33.02.
Gamuda declined 12 sen to RM4.40 and Sime Darby Plantation eased nine sen to RM6.60.
Trading activity was led by Key Asic, which recorded 987.11 million shares traded, although the counter fell 0.5 sen to 7.5 sen.
JAKS followed with 972.60 million shares traded, gaining 1.5 sen to 10.5 sen, while HHRG saw 440.10 million shares change hands, falling two sen to 13.5 sen.
AHB rose 0.5 sen to five sen after 406.61 million shares were traded, while Krono added 2.5 sen to 12.5 sen on 324.64 million shares.
