Most Parts Of West Malaysia To Experience Heavy Weather

Most parts of Peninsular Malaysia are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds this afternoon, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

The weather warning, issued at 1:40 pm today, covers Perlis and several districts in Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor, as well as Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

In Kedah, affected areas include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena, Kota Setar, Sik, Baling and Pendang, while Hulu Perak is affected in Perak.

The warning also covers Gua Musang in Kelantan; Kemaman, Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Marang and Kuala Terengganu in Terengganu; and Cameron Highlands, Bera, Rompin, Pekan and Jerantut in Pahang.

In Selangor, the affected districts are Hulu Langat, Sepang, Petaling, Gombak and Kuala Langat. In Negeri Sembilan, they are Jempol, Tampin, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jelebu and Rembau.

Several areas in Johor, namely Segamat, Kota Tinggi and Mersing, are also covered by the warning. In Sarawak, the warning applies to Miri and Marudi in the Miri division, as well as Limbang. The warning is in effect until 6 pm today.
