A rare sterling silver Montblanc Meisterstück No. 146 fountain pen featuring gold-tone highlights and an 18K gold nib belonging to Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lew Kuan Yew was among the notable items sold at Hotlotz’s Interiors & Collectibles – August, Fine Art Focus auction.
The auction ran from Aug 4 to Aug 16, offering collectors and enthusiasts an opportunity to acquire a range of fine art, interiors and collectible pieces.
The Montblanc Meisterstück No. 146, crafted in sterling silver and complemented by gold-tone details was sold for S$461,500 features an 18K gold nib, adding to its appeal among fountain pen collectors. It was sold after 111 bids.
The final price includes the buyer’s premium, while its hammer price, which refers to the final bid accepted by the auctioneer, was S$355,000. The pen had carried a pre-sale estimate of S$30,000 to S$50,000.
The sale formed part of Hotlotz’s latest Fine Art Focus auction, which showcased collectible and decorative pieces to the international auction market.
