A weak magnitude 3.1 earthquake was detected in the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor at 4.12 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
MetMalaysia said the earthquake was detected at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at 1.7 degrees North and 102.8 degrees East.
The epicentre was about 18 kilometres southwest of Batu Pahat, Johor.
MetMalaysia shared the information in a post on X today.
