Singapore stocks opened marginally higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) gaining 4.00 points or 0.07% to 5,739.68 as of 9.09am.
Market breadth was fairly balanced, with 98 gainers against 91 decliners. Trading volume stood at 82.07 million securities, valued at S$163.23 million.
Among key counters, DBS rose 16 cents or 0.21% to S$76.56, while OCBC Bank was at S$31.64. Singtel gained to S$4.50, while Genting Singapore was at S$0.65.
HongkongLand was quoted at US$8.22, while Yangzijiang Shipbuilding rose to S$4.82. SGX itself was at S$25.37.
In the REIT segment, CapLand Ascendas REIT was unchanged at S$2.46. Suntec REIT stood at S$1.53, CapLand Integrated Commercial Trust at S$2.40 and Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust at S$1.28.
Keppel REIT was at S$0.885, while Frasers Centrepoint Trust stood at S$2.18 and Lendlease REIT at S$0.565.
In derivatives, total volume stood at 29,170 contracts. FTSE China A50 Index Futures for August was at 14,617, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for September stood at 65,485.
SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for August was at 3,873.25, while MSCI Singapore Index Futures for August stood at 541.50.
In foreign exchange futures, September INR/USD Futures traded at 104.790 with volume of 939 contracts. USD/CNH Futures stood at 6.7098, while USD/SGD Futures was at 1.2687.
