Singapore stocks opened slightly higher on Friday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) rising 9.03 points or 0.16% to 5,693.15 as at 9.08 am.
Market breadth was mixed, with 78 advancers against 92 decliners, while trading volume stood at 90.81 million securities worth S$140.65 million.
Among the index heavyweights, DBS Group Holdings rose S$0.30 or 0.40% to S$75.95, while OCBC Bank gained to S$31.05. Singtel was also higher at S$4.52.
Other actively traded counters included Addvalue Technologies at S$0.163, Seatrium at S$2.22, ST Engineering at S$10.66 and Frencken at S$2.44.
In the REIT segment, CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust slipped S$0.02 or 0.84% to S$2.36. CapitaLand Ascendas REIT stood at S$2.42, Suntec REIT at S$1.46 and Mapletree Industrial Trust at S$1.92.
In derivatives, the FTSE China A50 Index Futures for August stood at 14,855, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for September was at 66,500. SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for September traded at 64,020.25.
The USD/SGD Futures for October was quoted at 1.2667, while USD/CNH Futures for September stood at 6.7130.
