Rapid KL will operate selected rail and bus services around the clock from Aug 30 to 31 to support public travel during the 2026 Merdeka celebrations.
The 24-hour rail service will cover all Rapid KL-operated LRT, MRT and Kuala Lumpur Monorail services, with train frequencies increased on selected major routes according to passenger demand and conditions at stations.
Additional trains will also be deployed if required, based on passenger numbers and platform congestion.
Selected bus services, including the Sunway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route and Rapid KL On-Demand (ROD), will also operate 24 hours during the period.
The extended services are intended to support crowds attending the Ambang Merdeka celebrations on the night of Aug 30 and the National Day celebrations in Putrajaya on the morning of Aug 31.
For those travelling to Putrajaya, Rapid KL will provide 103 free shuttle buses on two routes. The MS01 route will operate between Putrajaya Sentral and Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Presint 2, from 2 pm on Aug 30 until 2 pm on Aug 31.
The MS02 route will run between PICC and Jalan Tun Hussein, Presint 3, from 4 am to 2 pm on Aug 31.
More than 5,000 frontline personnel from various units will be deployed in shifts on Aug 30 and 31 to support operations, manage crowds and monitor passenger flow at stations and other high-traffic areas.
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys, ensure sufficient balance on their Touch ‘n Go cards and follow instructions from staff, particularly at crowded stations and locations.
Further information on Rapid KL’s National Day operations is available through its social media platforms and website.
