FAMA Denies Allowing Foreigners To Trade At Agro Markets

The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Terengganu has denied claims that non-Malaysian citizens are being allowed to trade at farmers’ markets under its supervision.

The agency said the market featured in a Facebook post that went viral yesterday was the Kuala Besut Morning Market, which is not managed by FAMA.

FAMA Terengganu said only two farmers’ markets in Besut fall under its supervision: the Jerteh Farmers’ Market, held every Thursday, and the Alor Lintang Farmers’ Market, held every Saturday.

The clarification came after a photograph circulated on social media showing a man believed to be a foreign national selling vegetables at a morning market in Besut.
