The government will raise the annual sales threshold for businesses exempt from the e-Invoice requirement from RM1 million to RM3 million, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.
The revision means businesses with annual sales of up to RM3 million will be exempt from implementing e-Invoice, benefiting an estimated 1.1 million businesses.
Anwar announced the measure during his Amanat Perdana Hari Kebangsaan, as part of several initiatives aimed at easing cost-of-living pressures and supporting businesses.
The government will also allocate RM200 million under the Geran Sejahtera MADANI to help small traders purchase equipment. The grant will cover small businesses including home-based traders, hawkers and night-market traders.
In addition, the government is increasing the total allocation for micro-business financing in 2026 from RM5 billion to RM6 billion, with an additional RM1 billion in funding.
Anwar said further measures would be announced during the Malaysia Day celebrations in Sarawak and through Budget 2027.
