Singapore Shares Open Higher With STI At 5,769.94

Singapore stocks opened higher on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) rising 25.83 points or 0.45% to 5,769.94 as banking counters led the early gains.

The market saw 93 advancers against 74 decliners, with 71.63 million shares changing hands for a total value of S$156.49 million as at 9:05am.

DBS was among the strongest performers, climbing S$0.78 or 1.005% to S$78.38. UOB also gained to S$41.84 while OCBC Bank stood at S$32.33.

Other key counters included YZJ Shipbuilding at S$4.64, Singapore Exchange at S$25.06, City Developments at S$8.53 and ST Engineering at S$10.45.

In the REIT space, Mapletree Logistics Trust fell S$0.01 or 0.87% to S$1.14.

CapLand Ascendas REIT was at S$2.38, CapLand Integrated Commercial Trust at S$2.33 and Mapletree PanAsia Commercial Trust at S$1.24. Keppel REIT was unchanged at S$0.86, while Keppel DC REIT stood at S$2.20 and NTT DC REIT at US$0.935.

In derivatives, total volume stood at 11.87K as at 8:49am. FTSE China A50 Index Futures was at 14,567 points, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures stood at 64,195 points.

SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures was at 4,051.50 points and MSCI Singapore Index Futures was at 542.80 points.

Meanwhile, INR/USD Futures stood at 105.630, USD/CNH Futures at 6.7142, KRW/USD Futures at 0.7359 and USD/SGD Futures at 1.2726.

The 10-Year Mini JGB Futures contract was at 125.570.
