Track replacement works on the Kelana Jaya Line will begin this Sunday, Sept 13, with affected stations starting train services at 9.30am instead of the usual 6.00am on designated Sundays.
Rapid KL said the works will be carried out in seven phases and are expected to be fully completed by September 2027. Some sections with long curved tracks will require longer working hours, including into the early morning, to allow the replacement works to be completed properly.
The first phase on Sept 13, 20 and 27 will involve Taman Melati and Gombak stations.
Further works are scheduled for Nov 15, 22 and 29, 2026, followed by Jan 10, 17 and 24, March 14, 21 and 28, May 9, 16 and 23, July 11, 18 and 25 and Sept 12, 19 and 26, 2027. The affected stations will vary by phase and include sections covering Universiti, Kerinchi, Abdullah Hukum, Dato’ Keramat, Jelatek, Setiawangsa, Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru, KLCC, Ampang Park and Taman Jaya.
Free shuttle buses will operate between affected stations to help passengers continue their journeys during the works.
Ticket machines at affected stations will also be temporarily closed until 9.30am, although tickets can still be purchased at station counters. Rapid KL and Touch ‘n Go users can continue their journeys as usual.
Stations not affected by the works will operate according to their normal schedules.
Rapid KL advised passengers travelling on the Kelana Jaya Line, particularly on affected Sunday mornings, to check the latest service information before travelling.
