A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck near Teluknaga in Indonesia’s Java region early Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), with no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage.
The earthquake occurred at 4:23 am local time, at a depth of about 358.6 kilometres, according to the USGS, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
The deep quake struck in the northeastern part of Java and was recorded more than 350 kilometres below the Earth’s surface.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage following the earthquake.
