A24 and Dior are taking their partnership beyond the screen. The film company and fashion house have announced a two-year collaboration centred on New York’s Cherry Lane Theatre.
The partnership will cover film, theatre and live events, with Dior serving as the theatre’s premier partner. A24 acquired the historic Off-Broadway venue in 2023 and reopened it last year.
The collaboration begins with Both Ends, a one-night performance starring Justin Vivian Bond. The production is produced and directed by Zack Winokur and draws on the work of poet and playwright Edna St. Vincent Millay, one of Cherry Lane Theatre’s founders.
According to Hypebeast, the wider partnership will also include programming across film and theatre, as well as support for emerging artists and students.
Jonathan Anderson, Dior’s creative director, designed the costumes for Both Ends. Bond also wears an archival Paul Poiret piece, linking the production to Millay, who wore the designer’s work during her lifetime.
The partnership was announced with a short film directed by Aidan Zamiri. Sabrina Carpenter, Camille Cottin, Josh O’Connor, Drew Starkey and Sophie Wilde appear as different versions of Anderson, auditioning for the role of Dior’s creative director.
More projects are expected over the next two years, with A24 and Dior set to build the programme around film, theatre and live events.
