Groups Offer Scholarship For Law And Finance Worth Over RM160k Annually

BAC Education Group and ZICO Trust Malaysia have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide scholarships for selected students from B40 households pursuing degrees in law, accounting and finance, and business administration.

Under the programme, ZICO Trust Malaysia will sponsor tuition fees for 10 students each year, with the scholarships valued at more than RM160,000 annually.

The sponsorship will cover the full three-year duration of the recipients’ respective degree programmes.

Of the 10 scholarships, six will be awarded to students pursuing Bachelor of Laws degrees under the University of London International Programme through BAC in Malaysia.

Another two scholarships will be offered to students pursuing Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degrees at Veritas University College, while the remaining two will be for Bachelor of Business Administration degrees through Veritas University College’s open and distance learning programme.

The scholarship programme is targeted at students from B40 family income backgrounds who demonstrate strong academic performance and maintain good disciplinary standing throughout their studies.

Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will be required to serve a one-year employment bond with ZICO Trust Malaysia.

BAC Education Group co-founder and chief future officer Raja Singham said the partnership reflected the group’s view that education should extend beyond academic qualifications and prepare students for employment and a rapidly changing world.

“This partnership with ZICO Trust Malaysia reflects something we believe very strongly at BAC — education must do more than prepare students for a qualification. It must prepare them for life, for work and for a world that is changing faster than ever,” he said.

The collaboration is aimed at widening access to higher education for financially disadvantaged students while creating a clearer pathway from study to employment.
