Hannah Yeoh, Attorney General Seen Arriving At Istana Negara

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar arrived at Istana Negara on Friday ahead of the Pardons Board meeting scheduled for this morning.

A vehicle believed to be carrying Hannah entered the Istana Negara compound at 7.48am, followed shortly by a vehicle believed to be carrying Mohd Dusuki.

Hannah and Mohd Dusuki are among the members of the Federal Territories Pardons Board, which is chaired by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Under Article 42 of the Federal Constitution, the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya also comprises no more than three other members appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The meeting is being closely watched following the deferment of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s pardon application at the 63rd Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting on Sept 11.

The application was deferred to a future meeting. At the same meeting, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim granted pardons to 65 other prisoners.

Hannah last night also denied that her signature appeared on a document circulating online concerning claims about Najib’s house arrest.

There has been no official announcement on the outcome of today’s meeting as of this morning.
