Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) has disposed of 60 million ordinary shares in Sime Darby Bhd, reducing its direct shareholding in the conglomerate to 30.28%.
According to filings, the disposal was carried out on Sept 15, 2026, through AmanahRaya Trustees Bhd, acting as trustee for ASB.
Following the transaction, ASB’s direct interest in Sime Darby stood at 2.064 billion shares, representing 30.279% of the company’s issued shares.
The disposal reduced ASB’s holding from approximately 2.124 billion shares before the transaction.
The notice of change in substantial shareholding was dated Sept 15 and received by Sime Darby on Sept 18.
Despite the disposal, ASB retains a substantial equity interest in Sime Darby, with its shareholding remaining above 30%.
