Carolina Herrera is taking its Spring 2027 collection back to New York, 45 years after the house first presented a collection in the city.
Shown at Lincoln Centre’s David H. Koch Theatre, the collection by Creative Director Wes Gordon revisits several of the label’s established codes while shifting them into a new wardrobe of tailored jackets, A-line skirts and lighter evening pieces.
The silhouettes are structured but not rigid. Elongated jackets are paired with sweeping skirts, while chiffon, organza, metallic lace and gazar add movement to the looks.
Prints also return to the collection, with painterly florals and the house’s signature polka dots appearing across the Spring 2027 lineup. The colour palette is split between strong graphic shades and softer tones. Black, white, Herrera Red and Taxi Cab Yellow form one side, while lighter colours provide contrast.
Taxi Cab Yellow has a particular New York connection. The shade is used throughout the collection and also references the city’s yellow taxis, while linking back to Carolina Herrera’s fragrance packaging.
Accessories take a more playful turn. Sculptural bags are covered in leather flowers, while the Mimi Bag appears in satin and, in selected versions, with small gold frog details. Oversized pearls, tassels and novelty jewellery add another layer to the collection.
The biggest New York reference comes through a new partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. For the first time, Warhol’s 1979 portrait of Carolina Herrera will appear on selected fashion pieces.
The portrait is featured on an embroidered mini dress and the Jacqueline bag, among other bespoke pieces. Warhol painted Herrera in 1979, reflecting the friendship between the artist and designer at the time.
The Spring 2027 collection brings that history into the present while keeping the focus on the house’s established codes. Gordon uses familiar elements such as florals, polka dots, strong colour and tailored silhouettes, but applies them across a broader mix of daywear, evening pieces and accessories.
