Cypark Resources Berhad returned to profitability in the first quarter of its financial year ending 2027 (1QFY2027), recording a profit after tax (PAT) of RM5.4 million compared with a net loss of RM18.1 million in the corresponding period last year.
The renewable energy and environmental solutions group reported revenue of RM180 million, more than quadrupling from RM41.6 million a year earlier.
Notably, revenue generated in the first quarter alone exceeded the RM179.2 million recorded for the entire FY2026, marking a significant increase in the group’s operating scale.
Gross profit improved to RM29.2 million from a gross loss of RM300,000 previously, reflecting a turnaround in operating performance.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, Cypark’s revenue surged nearly fourfold from RM48.1 million in 4QFY2026 to RM180 million in the latest quarter.
The earnings recovery was also evident after excluding a one-off non-cash impairment reversal of RM39 million recorded in the preceding quarter.
On an underlying basis, Cypark swung from a loss before tax of RM21.9 million in 4QFY2026 to a profit before tax of RM5.7 million in 1QFY2027, representing a sequential improvement of RM27.6 million.
Year-on-year, profit before tax improved by RM23.3 million, further reinforcing the recovery in the group’s financial performance.
The latest results mark a turnaround for Cypark, with the sharp increase in revenue and return to profitability pointing to stronger underlying operations compared with both the preceding quarter and the corresponding period last year.
