MQ Technology Bhd has entered into an exclusive cooperation agreement with China-based Exands (Shanghai) Information Technology Co Ltd to market, implement and operate artificial intelligence (AI)-powered air-conditioning energy-saving projects in Malaysia and Indonesia.
The company said its subsidiary, MQ AI Advanced Technology Sdn Bhd, signed the agreement to establish an exclusive agency arrangement targeting hotels and commercial buildings in both markets.
Under the agreement, Exands will grant MQ AI sole agency rights to negotiate, secure, implement and operate projects involving central air-conditioning energy-saving systems throughout Malaysia and Indonesia.
The collaboration will involve 10-year energy-saving service contracts with participating hotels, with the electricity costs actually saved forming the revenue pool to be shared between Exands and MQ AI.
The agreement follows a facilitation and collaboration agreement signed between MQ Technology and INT Network Solution Sdn Bhd on Aug 14, 2026, under which INT introduced Exands to the group.
MQ Technology said the latest agreement represents the definitive agreement contemplated under that earlier collaboration.
The company said the partnership would support its diversification into energy efficiency and sustainability by deploying AI-driven solutions for hotels and commercial buildings, while creating potential new growth opportunities in Malaysia and Indonesia.
