Lindsay Lohan and Henry Golding are teaming up for a new romance film, Return to You, directed by Mark Waters.
Set in 2008, the film follows a powerful but lonely attorney whose life changes after she mistakenly receives a DVD meant for the husband of a dying woman. The recording contains an emotional message, along with clues that lead the lawyer on a search for the woman’s spouse.
Lohan will star in the film and also serve as a producer. Golding joins her as the other lead, with further cast details yet to be announced.
The project also reunites Lohan with Waters, who directed two of her best-known films, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. The director has since worked on several Netflix romantic comedies, including He’s All That, Mother of the Bride and La Dolce Villa.
Eric Champnella wrote the screenplay. Brad Krevoy and Lohan are producing, with Olivia Krevoy, Jimmy Townsend and Galen Fletcher serving as executive producers.
Return to You marks another collaboration between Lohan and Waters, while bringing Lohan and Golding together for a story built around grief, chance and an unexpected search for connection. Further details on the film’s release and supporting cast have not yet been announced.
