Selangor Budget To Address Waste Management, Flooding And Liveability

Selangor said its Budget 2027 will prioritise issues that directly affect residents, particularly waste management, flooding and liveability.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is also assessing the needs of lower-income and vulnerable households, including children’s schooling, food security and employment opportunities.

The priorities build on earlier Budget 2027 engagement sessions, where the state identified climate resilience, public service delivery, human capital and social welfare among areas requiring greater attention.

Amirudin said preparations for the budget are still going through consultation, including forums and focus group discussions with relevant stakeholders.

At the same time, the state intends to maintain its longer-term economic agenda, including its target of reaching an RM500 billion economy. The target is also embedded in the state’s Second Selangor Plan, with infrastructure planning being aligned towards supporting that ambition.

The state government has previously said Budget 2027 will also consider the competitiveness of Selangor’s manufacturing sector, climate-related risks and the growing demands of an ageing population.

Selangor Budget 2027 is scheduled to be tabled on Nov 13, according to the state’s budget engagement reporting.
