The government has allocated RM445 million to the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) under Budget 2027 for community development projects, including replanting initiatives and kindergarten construction.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the allocation would fund replanting in Pos Poi, Sungai Siput, Perak, as well as the construction of Orang Asli kindergartens in Kampung Angkek and Pos Belatim in Gua Musang, Kelantan.
The government will also build a dedicated 100-bed hostel for Orang Asli children in Kinta, Perak, who live far from school and face difficulties commuting daily, putting them at risk of dropping out.
