Mah Sing pledges RM 50,000 for Covid-19 relief in Johor

Property developer, Mah Sing Group Berhad (Mah Sing)  has donated RM50,000 to the Tabung Bencana Negeri Johor for the purchase of personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare front liners.

The donation was done via it’s via the group’s corporate responsibility arm, Mah Sing Foundation (MSF)

Part of the contribution will also be utilised to provide food supplies and medical aid to low income families and villagers in the Enhanced Movement Control Order areas like Kempas and Simpang Renggam.

Mah Sing’s Founder and Group Managing Director, Leong Hoy Kum said,“The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected so many of us – especially our front liners who are keeping us safe by putting their lives on the line on a daily basis.”

“Our RM50,000 contribution to the Tabung Bencana Negeri Johor for the purchase of PPE is in response to the current shortage of medical equipment that our front liners and public hospitals are facing particularly in states out of the Klang Valley area due to the severity of the Covid-19 outbreak,” he further added.

Mah Sing and MSF recently pledged 20 units of heavy-duty critical-care ventilators worth RM3.9 million to the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA).

The Foundation also played a role in responding to the initial outbreak in Wuhan, China, by contributing RM100,000 worth of medical supplies to medical institutions in the city of Wuhan.

This was in collaboration with Malaysia relief organisation #OpsHarapan, which had direct access to hospitals there.
