Air Asia publishes new travel policies amid Covid-19 outbreak

Air Asia Group has implemented new travel policies as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

In a news report by Bernama, guests are required to bring and wear their own face masks before and after their flight, as well as during check-ins and bag collection.

Those without face masks will not be allowed to board the flight.

The detailed list released through an email by chief safety officer, Captain Ling Long Tien says carry-on cabin baggage will not exceed 7 kg for each guest.

“This will help to minimise unwanted contact between you and another guests’ baggage,” Ling says.

The guidelines also urges for guests to have arrive preferably three hours before departure and has pointed out that aircrafts will undergo disinfection including a deep clean performed using cleaning agents in accordance with the Airbus Aircraft maintenance manual.

Temperature screening will also take place at different checkpoints including boarding gates. Additionally, social distancing will be observed with floor markers at queuing areas, including check-in counters and kiosks.

During flight, guests will be seated in ever other so planes would only be able to carry 50 percent of their total passenger load.
