Community service initiative, Meals For Meals aims to support local F&B businesses

A new community service initiative, Meals For Meals has been launched to offer Malaysians the opportunity to support home-based local F&B businesses. This in return will also provide meals for refugees in need.

Customers’ meal purchases will not only enable them to actively support local businesses but also lead to a positive impact to underprivileged communities.

“For every purchase of two meals from the featured business of the day, Meals for Meals will pledge one meal, as part of its efforts to deliver food aid to children and families,” said founder, Aida Azrin in a statement.

Customers can also opt to purchase meals to be donated directly to refugee homes and schools.

The initiative will is expected to benefit organisations such as Mon Refugee Education Centre and Destiny Welfare Centre, both empowering children with resources, tools and opportunities improve their livelihood and enable sustainable change in their community.

“In today’s new normal of social distancing, staying at home does not hinder one from being able to give back to society and improve lives of not only the disadvantaged communities but also small, local businesses as they reopen, revisit their business approach and find their footing during these uncertain times,” said Azrin.
